Gave us a great starting place. We had to do some modifications on the size because in California you are required to use either a gas fire box that protrudes into the room or use the electric fireplace that doesn’t look real. Because the firebox protrudes into the room, we just did the front face. Also we did different molding for the mantle and removed the flat piece from the surround that’s between the shaker horizontal piece and the mantle molding and top because with eight foot ceilings we needed smaller proportions. We ended up not needing to buy or rent rabbit routing tools and attached the surround to the wall and filled in the holes and then spray painted it.
